Genuine new Bosch 04440422A3 AdBlue supply module, the DEF delivery unit of the Bosch Denoxtronic 2.2 SCR system, built in the 24 V version and marked 24 V on the housing. It replaces the Cummins OE numbers 5511748 and 4329470, and is fitted to Cummins ISB 6.7, ISC 8.3, ISL 8.9 and ISX 11.9 and 15 litre engines from 01/2010 onwards. Supplied new in the original sealed Bosch box, made in the Czech Republic, and covered by a 1-year manufacturer warranty.

The supply module is the pump unit of the SCR aftertreatment circuit. It draws diesel exhaust fluid from the tank through the INLET connection, filters it, and delivers it under pressure through the OUTLET connection to the dosing module, which injects it into the exhaust upstream of the SCR catalyst. A diaphragm pump, an integrated filter, a pressure sensor and a reverting valve set are combined in one heated housing. In the Denoxtronic 2.2 system a throttle in the return path holds the circuit at roughly 9 bar, and when the engine is switched off the reverting valve changes the flow direction so the module pumps the fluid back to the tank through the BACKFLOW connection, emptying the lines before the fluid can freeze and crystallise.

Also known internationally as: AdBlue Supply Module / DEF Pump / Urea Pump (EN), AdBlue Fordermodul / Harnstoffpumpe (DE), Module d'alimentation AdBlue / Pompe a uree (FR), Modulo di alimentazione AdBlue / Pompa urea (IT), Modulo de alimentacion AdBlue / Bomba de urea (ES), Modul de alimentare AdBlue / Pompa de uree (RO) - Bosch 04440422A3 for Cummins ISB, ISC, ISL and ISX engines.

Bosch and OEM Cross-Reference Numbers

Compare the number on your original supply module before ordering. Engine model alone is not enough for compatibility confirmation, because Cummins used both 12 V and 24 V supply modules on the same engine families.

Engine and Machine Compatibility

Compatibility must always be verified by the number on the original supply module, the OE number, the VIN or the engine serial number. Engine model alone is not sufficient.

Make Engine Displacement Power Cylinders Build year
Cummins ISB 6.7 L 149-242 kW 6 01/2010 onwards
Cummins ISC 8.3 L Not specified by the source 6 01/2010 onwards
Cummins ISL 8.9 L 209-283 kW 6 01/2010 onwards
Cummins ISX 11.9 L 231-317 kW 6 01/2010 onwards
Cummins ISX 15 L 298-448 kW 6 01/2010 onwards

All listed engines are turbocharged in-line six-cylinder diesel engines. The same engine families were also built with a 12 V supply module for other markets and installations; those units carry a different part number and are not interchangeable with this 24 V module.

FAQ

Question Answer
What does the Bosch 04440422A3 AdBlue supply module do? It is the pump unit of the SCR system. It draws diesel exhaust fluid from the AdBlue tank, filters it, and delivers it under pressure to the dosing module, which injects it into the exhaust upstream of the SCR catalyst so that nitrogen oxides are converted into nitrogen and water.
Is this the 12 V or the 24 V version? This is the 24 V version. The voltage is moulded on the module housing next to the electrical connector and is also part of the Bosch type formula SM22E/24/E/12/B. The 12 V Denoxtronic 2.2 supply modules used on other Cummins installations carry a different part number and are not interchangeable.
Which Cummins numbers does 04440422A3 cover? 5511748, A066Y351, 4329470 and A045N268.
What is the difference between 04440422A3, 04440422A4, 0444042084 and 0444042092? 04440422A3 is the commercial (trade) version, which is what you receive here. 04440422A4 is the OES version supplied through the vehicle manufacturer service network. 0444042084 is the original equipment version used in first fitment, and 0444042092 is its commercial version, which is no longer manufactured.
Which Cummins engines is it used on? ISB 6.7 L, ISC 8.3 L, ISL 8.9 L and ISX in both 11.9 L and 15 L displacements, built from 01/2010 onwards.
Is this a genuine new Bosch part? Yes. It is a genuine Bosch supply module, new in the original sealed box, made in the Czech Republic, and covered by a 1-year manufacturer warranty.
What is supplied in the box? One Bosch AdBlue supply module in the original sealed Bosch packaging. Hoses, quick connectors, wiring, the DEF tank header and the dosing module are separate parts and are not included.
Does the supply module have to be coded to the control unit? No individual calibration code is supplied with this module. After fitting, prime and pressure-test the DEF circuit and carry out any adaptation, learned-value reset and fault-memory erase required by the manufacturer procedure.
My dosing module has also failed. Do I need to replace both? The supply module and the dosing module are separate components of the Denoxtronic 2.2 system and are supplied and replaced separately. Test both before ordering. A blocked dosing module or a blocked pressure line raises the load on the pump, so a supply module fitted behind a restricted circuit will not hold the commanded pressure.
Why did my original supply module fail? The most common causes are crystallised urea deposits inside the module and in the lines, DEF that is out of specification or contaminated, an overdue DEF filter, water or diesel introduced into the AdBlue tank, and freezing damage where the shutdown purge cycle was interrupted repeatedly.
Do you ship worldwide? Yes, we ship worldwide.

Diagnostic Information

Common Symptoms of a Failing AdBlue Supply Module

On Cummins ISB, ISC, ISL and ISX engines with the Bosch Denoxtronic 2.2 system, a worn, blocked or electrically faulty supply module typically presents as DEF pressure diagnostic trouble codes for low, unstable or unachievable system pressure, a pump that runs continuously without building pressure, a failed DEF pressure build-up test at key-on, no audible purge cycle after shutdown, high NOx readings and SCR efficiency codes, and torque derate or speed limitation once the aftertreatment fault counter expires.

These symptoms overlap with faults in the dosing module, the DEF lines and quick connectors, the tank header and level sensor, the NOx sensors, the DEF heaters and the aftertreatment control unit wiring. Carry out all testing required to establish that the supply module is the actual cause of the fault before replacing any part.

Installation and System Check

A contamination check of the DEF circuit is required before fitting a supply module, regardless of what caused the original fault. Inspect the DEF filter and its housing, the tank suction point and the quick connectors at both ends of the pressure line, because that is where crystallised urea and debris collect and where the first traces are visible.

Affected components are cleaned or replaced: the AdBlue tank and its header, the supply, pressure and return lines, the filter, and the dosing module. Lines with hardened crystal deposits are replaced, not cleaned, because deposits left in a bore break loose later and block the dosing module. Refill with fresh DEF to ISO 22241, prime the circuit and run the pressure build-up test according to the manufacturer procedure.

Urea crystallisation is only one cause. Out-of-specification, diluted or aged diesel exhaust fluid is just as common, typically from improper storage above the recommended temperature, containers that have held another fluid, or topping up from open canisters.

Fitting a new supply module into a circuit that has not been cleaned produces repeat failure within a short time and is not covered by warranty.
