Genuine new Bosch 0445120177 CRIN3-18 electromagnetic common rail fuel injector for Cummins QSB4.5, QSB5.9, QSB6.7 and ISB6.7 diesel engines. The most widely used OE references for this injector are Cummins 5254261 and Komatsu 6755-11-3100; the full cross-reference list is in the table below.

The injector meters the fuel delivered to one cylinder from the common rail, opening and closing under ECU control at full rail pressure so that injection quantity and timing stay accurate across the whole load range. It is supplied new in the original sealed Bosch box, made in Brazil, together with a nozzle sealing washer and an injector O-ring, and is covered by a 1-year manufacturer warranty.

This injector is not IMA (IQA) coded, so there is no individual calibration code to write into the ECU after fitting.

Also known internationally as: Common Rail Injector (EN), Common-Rail-Injektor / Einspritzduse (DE), Injecteur Common Rail (FR), Iniettore Common Rail (IT), Inyector Common Rail (ES), Injector Common Rail (RO) - Bosch 0445120177 for Cummins QSB and ISB 6.7L.

Diagnostic Information

Common symptoms of a failing common rail injector

Extended cranking or a no-start condition, unstable idle, misfire on one cylinder, loss of power, rough running, excessive smoke, increased fuel consumption, an illuminated engine warning light, or excessive injector leak-off return volume.

The same symptoms can also be produced by the high-pressure pump, the rail pressure sensor, the fuel metering unit, the low-pressure supply, fuel contamination or engine management faults. A professional fuel-system test must be carried out before replacing any parts, to confirm the injector is the actual cause of the fault.

Installation and system check

Before replacing a common rail injector, carry out a professional diagnostic inspection: rail pressure test, injector leak-off (return flow) test, fuel contamination inspection, reading of the diagnostic trouble codes, fuel filter inspection and fuel quality check.

If the high-pressure pump has failed and released metallic particles into the fuel, the whole system must be checked and decontaminated, from the fuel tank through to the injectors: fuel tank, in-tank low-pressure pump, feed and return lines, filter and filter housing, high-pressure pump, common rail, rail pressure sensor, fuel metering unit and injectors. Any component that cannot be cleaned completely and safely, which usually means the in-tank pump, the rail pressure sensor, the metering unit and in most cases the injectors, must be replaced rather than cleaned. Fitting a new injector into a system that is still contaminated will cause a repeat failure.
